Music Review: Milenge Milenge

MILENGE MILENGE is the hype of Bollywood for this week since I Hate Luv Storys has done well at the box office and its youthful love story has been adored by the audience.  So, this has raised questions if the love story of MILENGE MILENGE will be able to compete well with I Hate Luv Storys!  We must wait for the release of the film to get the answers but I must say that I am not too impressed with the music of MILENGE MILENGE, since it does not seem to have versality or the spark that all other Himesh Reshammiya’s compositions have had in the past!

TRACK MY VIEW
FIRST TRACK- HARE KANCH KI CHUDDIYAN

Singer: Alka Yagnik

Genre: Celebration

Duration: 04.43 mins

It is a traditional wedding celebration song ideally for the bride which will be appreciated by listeners who adore their old-type melodious songs!
SECOND TRACK- ISHQ KI GALI

Singer: Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Jayesh Gandhi

Genre- Qawalli

Duration: 05.15 mins

It has an Indian theme of Qawali and it is a sad song supported by the strong voice of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan who is always a pleasure to listen to!
THIRD TRACK- ISHQ KI GALI (REMIX)

Singer: Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Jayesh Gandhi

Genre- Remix

Duration: 03.40 mins

This track has a combination of Western and Bhangra themes given to the Qawalli of the previous track.  Personally, I prefer the original version as the song is quite sad about a lover aching for his love so it sounds better with a simpler and traditional Qawalli background music.
FOURTH TRACK- KUCH TO BAAKI HAI

Singer: Himesh Reshammiya

Genre: Sad

Duration: 03.55 mins

Himesh’s powerful voice has been gifted to this sad song and we all know that he is capable of singing deep, meaningful and sad songs which really touch you!  Although, this song does not bring too much spark as Himesh’s previous work yet the singer’s voice does form a connection with the listener which is positive pointer.
FIFTH TRACK- KUCH TO BAAKI HAI (BRIGHT MIX)

Singer: Himesh Reshammiya

Genre: Remix

Duration: 4 mins

Honestly, I do not understand how you can brighten up a sad song and call it the ‘Bright Mix’! The remix makes it more of a dance number than a sad song!
SIXTH TRACK- MILENGE MILENGE

Singer: Jayesh Gandhi, Alka Jagnik

Genre: Romantic

Duration: 04.46 mins

The title track of the film takes the sixth place on the album.  Personally, I did not like this track too much but it will probably sound better when listened to with the film then the lyrics will make better sense too.
SEVENTH TRACK- MILENGE MILENGE (1)

Singer: Himesh Reshammiya, Shreya Ghosal

Genre: Romantic

Duration: 05.07 mins

Surprisingly, there are two title tracks which I have not seen before!  Both the tracks use mostly the same lyrics yet there are different here and there.  Again, I do not like either of the tracks too much.
EIGHTH TRACK- TUM CHAIN HO

Singer: Sonu Nigam, Alka Yagnik, Suzanne D’Mello

Genre: Romantic

Duration: 05.11 mins

The track has Western touches in places which then transforms to a melodious Indian song in-between.  Yet, I do not like the sudden transformation from Western to Indian as I do not see the need or positive impact that it brings to the song.
NINETH TRACK- TUM CHAIN HO (UNPLUGGED)

Singer: Vineet Singh

Genre: Remix

Duration: 04.12 mins

This is a slow moving melodious song with good use of instruments as the background score.  The original version of Tum Chain Ho sounds more like the remix than this version!
