We loved the music of KAHO NA PYAR KAI, KOI MIL GAYA, KRISSH AND KRAZZY 4 and the team of Rakesh Roshan [director] and Rajesh Roshan [music director] are back with the most awaited movie, KITES! We have seen the immense talent of both the brothers in their previous BLOCKBUSTER movies so there is no doubt that they have created another breathtaking and super hit movie which will be loved, applauded and awarded by the massive fan following of Hrithik Roshan and the entire Bollywood Industry.
Although the film is set to release on 21 MAY 2010 which is weeks away however the music is out and this is my review of the music of KITES:
TRACK | MY VIEW |
FIRST TRACK – DIL KYUN YEH MERA
Duration: 05.36 Singers – KK Genre- Romantic Lyricist – Nasir Faraaz |
Nice romantic song, melodious and smoothly sang. I love the chorus lines… Dil Kyun Yeh Mera Chor Kare, Idhar nahin udhar nahin, Teri ore chale.
Everyone in love will feel touched by the lyrics of the song as it’s immensely romantic. |
SECOND TRACK – DIL KYUN YEH MERA (Remix)
Singers – KK Duration: 04.40 Genre- Remix Lyricist – Nasir Faraaz |
Usually, we will find the remixes at the end of the album however with Kites, you have the original song and straight after you have its remix. Personally, I like the original song than its remix version. The only differences between the two songs would be the beginning has few more beats, it has rap and slight more beats at the background, however the majority is the same as it’s original. |
THIRD TRACK – FIRE
Duration – 04:28 Singers – Rajesh Roshan, Vishal Dadlani, Anushka Manchanda Genre – Dance Lyricist – Asif Ali Beg |
Similar to its title, Fire, then the song has a western theme too. It has a very long introduction as the singers contribute to the song midway. The lyrics to the song are very interesting as it has a combination of Hindi and English lyrics. … Love and lustfest will make you bechain, Love is the game you play, and darr is the price you pay. However, I am not a big fan of this song since you cannot really relate to it however I am sure that it will make more sense with the film. |
FOURTH TRACK – FIRE (ENGLISH) Duration – 4.26 Singers – Rajesh Roshan, Vishal Dadlani, Anushka Manchanda Lyricist – Asif Ali Beg Genre – Remix |
This track is the English version of the third track, it is nothing too different. Again, I would say it is not relatable or lovable. |
FIFTH TRACK – KITES IN THE SKY Duration – 05.43 Singers – Hrithik Roshan, Suzanne D’Mello Lyricist – Asif Ali Beg Genre – Theme Piece |
Suzanne sings in a foreign language so I do not understand it but it sounds good. Yet, the most fascinating part is that Hrithik Roshan is singing and he sings impressively; If I did not know that it was him then I would not have known since he sings extremely well, probably as well as his acting! |
SIXTH TRACK – TUM BHI HO WAHI Duration – 03.57 Singers – Vishal Dadlani, Suraj Jagan, Lyricist – Nasir Faraaz Genre – Rock Lyricist – Nasir Faraaz |
The song is aggressively sung at most parts, which probably suits the situation in the film and reflects its Rock genre. I like the chorus which makes you question what could be the story of the film.
Tum bhi ho wahi, hum bhi hai wahi |
SEVETH TRACK – TUM BHI HO WAHI (REMIX)
Duration – 03.32 Singers – Vishal Dadlani, Suraj Jagan Genre – Remix Lyricist – Nasir Faraaz |
Although, it is the remix to the original rock song Tum Bhi Ho Wahi however it is calmer, melodious and smoother than its original version. I like the remix compared to the original version as I believe romantic songs sound better when melodious! |
EIGHTH TRACK – ZINDAGI DO PAL KI
Duration – 4.17 Singers – KK Genre – Romantic Lyricist – Nasir Faraaz |
The song uses a good combination of instruments and the beats to the part Dil mein tumhare chupa di hai maine to apni ye jaan, Ab tum hi isko sambhalo hume apna hosh kahan is very catchy and foot tapping. It is a beautiful song with a very meaningful and true title, Zindagi do pal ki. |
NINETH SONG – ZINDAGI DO PAL KI (REMIX)
Duration – 03.48 Singers – KK Genre – Remix Lyricist – Nasir Faraaz |
This is the remix to the track eight so it has more beats but it still maintains the high vocals. However, I like the original version more as it sounds better! |
Barbara Mori and Hrithik Roshan – what a lovely couple they make…
