If this movie has introduced me to one thing, then it is the fact that paradise does actually exist. I have to say the locations for this film are absolutely stunning. It was a picture postcard moment, and when you see it the first time you will know what exactly I mean. I had really better get saving up if I want to ever grace that resort for real, as it does not come cheap.

The movie itself is about 4 couples. We find that things aren’t going too well with Jason (Jason Bateman) and Cynthia (Kristen Bell). In a bid to save their marriage, they attempt a one last reconciliation, by visiting a paradise resort called “Eden” that deals in couple’s therapy. However, it proves quite costly if they go by themselves, so entice their friends to join them on a once in a lifetime paradise island, with them not realising majority of the time will be spent in therapy, and not for relaxation and fun.

Dave and Ronnie (Vince Vaughn and Malin Akerman), Joey and Lucy (Jon Favreau and Kristen Davis) and Shane and his young girlfriend Trudy (Faizon Love and Kali Hawk) make up the other 3 couples. Fun, laughter and surprises are in store for our couples, as they endure a path of self-discovery, under the guidance of resort owner Marcel (Jean Reno). Some truths will be un-covered, relationships will be tested, and will the couples leave the resort with a bond stronger than they came with?

I thought overall the movie worked quite well, although I did kind of find Jason a little bit annoying, but that’s a minor issue. As stated earlier the resort was amazing, all credit must to go to the real resort, St.Regis Bora Bora where it was actually filmed.

What did you think of this movie? What did you think of it’s location?
