In the last six months we have seen 3D films; also some of us have been lucky enough to have seen live sport in 3D on Sky in the UK. Now Sony is taking gaming to 3D level on their PS3, coming together with their first 3D TV. Sony is being touted as the first major manufacture to go with 3D technology, but I am quite sure the rest of the so called ‘big boys’ of electronics will follow suit.
The new TV will have Sony’s latest 200Hz high frame rate technology; the HX803 will distribute a full HD 1080p picture, while ‘High Speed precision’, ‘LED Boost’ and ‘3D up conversion’ will help improve that HD 3D image even further, There’s also wireless access to Bravia Internet Video and built-in Free view HD. When I read these features, I am thinking WOW it looks to have everything, But what i did not realise at first that the TV is actually 2D and the 3D up conversion is what makes it seem 3D. They do not tell you this if you do not research, there should be some sort of law against this scam.
With all the major companies, they will always want as much money as they can from you. The first model will not include the Sony 3D active glasses but if you can wait for the follow up model it will be included with the TV.
As for all the PS3 fans, the 3D stereoscopic games will be included with the HX308, so at least the extra cost will not be on the consumer. The four games in the collection include Wipeout HD, Motorostorm Pacific Rift, PAIN and Super Stardust HD. The console owners will be able to download the update in June to play the PS3 3D games sometime in June. There is so much choice for gamers now, not just being able to play games in 3D but also the release of Playstation Move is certain to be a big year for Sony.
You can make your 3D TV pre-orders via the www.sony.co.uk and Sony Centre stores across the UK now.
