Sony Ericsson has revealed their newest creation, Sony Ericsson Aspen, combined with the Operating system Windows 6.5.3. This update from Microsoft has bought further enhancements in the user interface and web browsing on the phone.
Sony Ericsson has gone after the business phone market with this release, to me it seems like from the pictures that it is just another phone with a QWERTY keyboard with all the features you require to run your business from the phone. Has this phone got anything that will make it stand out from the crowd; well let’s have a look at its features.
On-board is a 2.4 inch, 240×320 QVGA display, 3.2 megapixel camera, 3.5mm headset jack, front facing QWERTY keyboard (as mentioned before), microSD card slot with 4GB card and some stereo speakers. I see nothing new here then, how about the connectivity features, Wi-Fi as standard these days, Bluetooth of course and 3G. Wow, so nothing to shout about with these new features.
So having looked at the features of the phone is there anything from stopping you from going for a Blackberry or Nokia E series. The Aspen does have something which the other companies I am sure will follow suit in the future, its green credentials. It is also calculated to be further Eco friendly with a power saving mode, ECO mate application and the box & charger are finished from recycled materials.
To tell you the truth there is nothing that would get my attention with this phone, the phone companies should know we as consumers are going on reputation at the moment because the change or development in mobile phone technology is not there. If I was looking for business phone I would go for Blackberry as they have had more success with their phones.
The Sony Ericsson Aspen comes in Black and White Silver and has a UK release date of Quarter2 of this year.
