Sixty Too Bar in Horsforth, Leeds
If you’re familiar with Bar 166 & Bistro further up Town Street, then you sure must be familiar with its sister venue the Sixty Too Bar on Town Street. It would seem that Bar 166 warms the clientele up for the party that ensues at the Sixty Too Bar.
All too often, the young and the trendy would eat and drink at Bar 166, then get the party started at Sixty Too Bar. If it’s a fun, lively atmosphere you’re looking for then Sixty Too Bar is your place to be at.
FOOD & DRINK
Sixty Too Bar offers a variety of Chicken, Lamb, Gourmet and Vegetarian Burgers- burgers is the main food at this bar! Plus, they offer weekend breakfast and nibbles and many drinks so there is a good variety. Personally, we did not get the time to eat but the menu was quite good yet I did have J20 orange and passion drink which was chilled with ice cubes; absolutely delicious! The bar does offer a wide range of drinks from Wines, Beers, and Shooters to Cocktails.
We went to the bar on Saturday night after 9pm and it was very busy although it was still only the early hours of the night. The bar and pool areas were full and nearly all the tables were taken yet we managed to find a table and couple of seats which we rushed to in case they were taken too. We had to squeeze through the crowd to get to the bar to order our drinks which were ready in very little time, despite them being very busy, the bar staff seem to be very knowledgeable when it comes to cocktails as my colleagues Mojito was made up in no time.
The decor of the bar uses a lot of wood combined with leather seats so it was quite trendy and cool. The interior decoration of the bar, pool and eating area inside reflects youthfulness and trendiness yet the outside seating area is quite standard with wooden tables and chairs so there is nothing new or quite appealing.
Keeping the decor in mind then I would say the atmosphere is appealing for those that want to keep the party going till the early hours of morning. Don’t be fooled into thinking this is a quaint little bar, once you step inside it oozes ultra cool vibes. If you’re wanting a quite drink, then a word of warning, if it’s a weekend, do no step through those doors, it gets very loud and lively at Sixty Too Bar. We spoke to James Potter [manager] who tells us that it is the busiest on Fridays and Saturdays and Thursday is now starting to pick up with their 2 for 1 offer on cocktails!
Having a conversation is definitely not on the cards, as the music does get very loud, and the atmosphere very vibrant, so why not try your luck on the pool tables, which are a welcome addition if you don’t fancy being propped up against the bar all night.
The price for all the burgers begins at £6.50 which sounds quite costly just for a single burger so I hope that they are a good size and filling. However, the prices for the drinks were reasonable with Wines starting from £3.40, Shooters at £2.50 and Cocktails from £5.45 onwards. To check the prices visit: http://www.sixtytoo.co.uk/
WOULD I VISIT AGAIN?
I think it’s not a case of would I visit again, but more so I HAVE to visit again, so I can take in the whole Sixty Too Bar experience. I also have to mention, the thought of those Home Made Burgers seem very tempting as well. One thing is for sure, that 166 Bar & Bistro and Sixty Too Bar have firmly put Horsforth on the “places to go” map. Even if you only take in these 2 bars, you’re still guaranteed to have a great time, even if you don’t move on to check out the Leeds nightlife. Town Street, Horsforth is more than enough for a very good night out.
