Slug And Lettuce, Leicester – Pub Review

I have been to Slug and Lettuce in Leicester a few times for lunch and a Sunday roast and have never been disappointed with the quality of the food. It is one of those places where you know the food will not let you down as the quality and portions are both good. The one down side with it is that the prices are a bit on the expensive side and probably not value for money that is why I would recommend going on a Monday when you can get 50% off your food bill.

If you are having a few drinks with your meal and are not in a rush then I would have to say go for the ultimate platter as it is brilliant. Definitely best to have if you are with a group of mates and are having a few drinks at the same time. Nothing better then having nice food washed down with a pint or two.

The Sunday roast is quality and definitely value for money as there is a lot of it and should definitely fill you up, since it filled me up and I can eat a lot, as some others can testify. The thing I liked about the Sunday roast was that the portion was very good and there were plenty of different things to eat. I would definitely have it again. Another item which is definitely worth having is Fish and Chips as the fish I got was massive and very filling. The only downside was the tiny dollop of mushy peas to go with it, as it definitely needed more to go with the meal.

One of the healthier dishes I have had from the menu is the Tostadas which are really nice, but not so healthy when you have a side of chips with it. For the vegetarians out there, the Falafel Burger is supposed to be really nice. I have not tried it myself as there are too many nice meat dishes for me. The one thing I have tried and would definitely not have again is the hot chocolate as have had much better elsewhere.

Overall I really like Slug and Lettuce and not just for its great food it also a nice place just to have a few drinks and chill out with some friends, as the place is very clean and modern and have always found the bar staff to be very friendly and good. So I think it is well worth checking out.
