Summer is here and the World Cup 2010 is less than 1 week away. If like me, you are attending Bbl every weekend, you are most likely getting bored of having the standard lager and then spirits. Summer is the time to be adventurous, so why not try your hand at making a cocktail, let’s face it nothing refreshes like a cold cocktail, so here are my top 3 cocktails that will make your summer days even more enjoyable.

1. Sex On The Beach – What can be said about this cocktail, it is one of the most popular ones and is so refreshing. If you want try your hand at making cocktails but do not want to go too far, then Sex On The Beach is the one for you.

6 oz Vodka
2 oz Peach Schnapps
8 oz Cranberry Juice
8 oz Orange Juice

Add the Vodka and Peach Schnapps to a glass full of crushed ice, then add Orange Juice and Cranberry Juice equally, stir,  and enjoy summer freshness in a glass.

2. Mojito – Personally, I love Bacardi! So a cocktail that uses Bacardi in the drink is exactly what I like. It is a bit different because you add mint to the drink but a very refreshing drink. Below I’m using dark rum but you can use any?

5 oz Captain Morgan® or Bacardi
4 – 8 Mint Leaves
4 Tbsp Sugar
2 oz Lime Juice
8 oz Soda

Position Mint Leaves in the bottom of your glass. Add crushed ice, Captain Morgans or Bacardi, Sugar, and Lime Juice and mix. Add Soda Water and decorate with Mint Leaves

3. Long Island Iced Tea. The Long Island Iced Tea is not one for the light-hearted. It does have considerable more alcohol than most cocktails. Although it doesn’t contain tea, it has a similar taste. Give this a try if you are up for it.

4 part Vodka
4 part Tequila
4 part Rum
4 part Gin
4 part Orange Liquor

6 parts Sweet and Sour mix
4 splashes of Coca Cola

Mix ingredients together over ice in a glass. Garnish with a piece of lemon.
