How To Make Easy Indian Snack Foods: Spicy Pancakes

How to make easy Indian Spicy Pancakes

As I’ve said before..we always struggle on what to eat over the weekends so here’s another quick and easy dish to prepare…Spicy Pancakes!

Ingredients:

  • Chopped Coriander – 1 cup
  • Chopped Green chillies – to taste
  • Finely chopped Ginger and Garlic pieces
  • Pinch of Turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 3/4 cups of Gram flower (4people) – depending on how many to serve
  • 1tsp cummin seeds
  • 1 cup water

To cook Pancakes:

  • 2tbsp cooking oil
  • Skillet or frying pan

Take all the above ingredients and mix well into a batter…then take a skillet or frying pan and add 1 table spoon of oil and heat it up. Once the pan or skillet is heated take big spoonful of the batter and pour it in to the heated oil in the middle of the pan and spread it with the help of the back of the spoon. Once that is done take 1/2tsp oil and pour it round the edges of the Pancake and let the edges cook till Golden brown.

Then flip the pancakes with a spatula and let it cook on the other side. Once golden brown on both sides you know it’s cooked and take it out of the pan on to a dish and wala..warm spicy pancakes ready to be served with green chutney, tomato sauce, plain curd or plain.

Perfect for weekend dinner. 🙂
