I’m always thinking of ways to cook easy dishes or recycling left over food as we always struggle to decide on the menu for the weekends. So I came across Bread Pakoras…completely easy to make.

  • Left over bread
  • Chopped Coriander – 1 cup
  • Chopped Green chillies – to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • 3/4 cups of Gram flower (4people) – depending on how many to serve
  • 1tsp cumin seeds

First cut your bread slices in to 3equal sections so they are like long fingers. Next add 1/2 cup cold water to the 3/4 cup gram flour to make an even batter as this will be used to dip your bread fingers in. Once the batter is done add cumin seeds, chopped coriander, green chillies and then salt to taste. Then mix well.

On the gas put some oil to heat in to a pan or wok to deep fry as this needs to be very hot.

Take your bread fingers and carefully dip this in to the batt making sure all the break is covered with the batter evenly and pop in to the pan or wok to fry. Make sure you don’t get burnt put this in to the pan or wok…you can use spoons to do this if you wish. Let the pakoras fry till golden brown and take them out and this can be served with chutney, chilli sauce, tea coffee and can be eaten just like that.

I hope you like them. :-)
