Well the group stages are over and I doubt anybody correctly predicted all the teams to progress from the groups. See our earlier predictions here: http://www.taramagazine.com/sport/fifa-world-cup-2010-predictions/

I for one did not, Rahul what happened to your predictions, they didn’t come good. Who would have thought before the tournament started that both the finalists from the last World Cup would not make it out of their group, but to be honest they both deserved to go out as they did not play well in there matches.

I am glad the group stage is over as now the real action can begin hopefully. As I found some of the games in the group stages boring and even the last lot of games in the group. As I was looking forward to Brazil V Portugal but was left disappointed as both teams knew beforehand that realistically that both had qualified they did not try as hard as they should have.

Also the last ten minutes of the Spain v Chile game was just a joke it more like a training ground keep ball game. Another disappointing game was Greece V Argentina as Greece did not even try. Well at least England made it to the next round, though they did not make it easy for the fans.

Well, let’s hope the second round produces some better games. The problem may be that some teams set themselves not to lose and have a go in the last ten minutes rather then trying to win it from the start. Well I am looking forward to both games on Sunday (Germany V England and Argentina V Mexico) and Spain V Portugal. Let’s hope for more goals and more entertainment.

What have you made of the World Cup so far?
