Hotel Riu Imperial Marhaba
I only wanted a holiday with the hottest of hot weathers, relaxing, with bars and clubs, all-inclusive, and with a gym and a quality beach. So here I am writing this post on the Balcony in a five star hotel “Imperial Marhaba” in the holiday resort of “Port El Kantaoui” in Tunisia.
Demands have definitely been met here after a bit of a flight delay with the black ash in our skies. Starting off with the resort, it was probably the best one in Tunisia, or at least that was how it felt like as I walked in as we were greeted with a fantastic welcome cocktail. The reception here is very classy indeed; it definitely gave me a five star feeling straight away. The hotel consists of four restaurants, five bars, one night club, two pools (one indoor), a gym, activities, access to the beach and the list goes on. Everything was excellent quality.
One big let down would be the rooms we’re staying in, it definitely needs upgrading compared to every thing else in the hotel. Although the rooms are very spacious and has all the mod cons besides an iron, the carpets are very old fashion, they really should get the marble flooring arranged to go with the slick look of the rest of the hotel.
The Animation team for me could make a holiday so much better with their entertainment. There is a man from the entertainment team named Zalfani Aymen, who walks, talks and looks like Ross from Friends and he is the guy who runs the shows, it’s a pleasure to have him on board here.
Shopping in Tunisia really does pee you off as the shop owners really try forcing you to come in and to buy goods. My bartering skills sure have been brushed up here and I had plenty of fun and success getting prices down, especially with the taxis very cheap here. I paid about £2 for a five-mile taxi ride, bargain hey?
And finally, this may not sound good but it sure was a great laugh having them in my friend’s hotel room (thank God). A cockroach was found in their room, not once, not twice but three times and God were they fast and big.
