T20 World Cup – Super Eights

With the group stage matches finished with and no real shocks as all 8 test playing nations make the super eight stage, without any alarm bells.  With India being the first team to book their place in super eight stage and South Africa last in the day and night game.

Below is how the 4 tables stand after the group stage matches:

The super eight will consist of two groups of 4 teams, which are shown below:

Super Eights Groups

Group E Group F
Australia New Zealand
Sri Lanka Pakistan
India South Africa
West Indies England

The teams will play once against each other in the group and the top two from each group will go into semi-finals to be played on 13th and 14th May, with the final to be played on the Sunday 16th May.

I am bit disappointed that none of the minnows could cause any upsets, so now that its all big guns left in the groups every game will be crucial if they want to advance to the semi-finals.

I am still backing Australia to win their first T20 World Cup and I think India will give them a good competition.  With some interesting games coming up in the super eight stage who will you back to advance and go all the way?
