Yes friends, that’s right, you heard it here first. The mighty footballing nation, England, have tasted their first defeat at the World Cup in South Africa. As if the draw against the USA wasn’t bad enough, this defeat against the diminutive Jabulanis will be a bitter pill to swallow by Capello and his squad of stars.
In the native South African language of isiZulu, Jabulani means “to celebrate”, something I highly doubt the England team are doing right now. However, is the Jabulani a curse or a blessing to Fabio and his team? Fabio even blamed the Jabulanis for their dire performance in their opening match against the USA.
With their miniscule physique, how have the Jabulanis managed to fool the likes of Gerrard, Rooney, and Lampard etc? Surely, with the amounts Capello and his team get paid, they should be able to counter anything the Jabulanis can throw at them. At this stage, one must question Capello’s managerial qualities as he has let the Jabulanis intimidate his team, with little response from the team itself.
We have seen other teams, and their players keep the Jabulanis in check through sheer hard work and determination, so surely the same could be expected from the England team.
We will have to see during the group stages if the England team are still intimidated by the Jabulanis, or to see if they can get one over on them.
