France – Grand Slam Champions

France won the RBS Six nations and became Grand slam champions by beating England. Though they were not at their best in the win over England, they were definitely the best team over the whole of the tournament. England probably played their best performance in defeat and looked much better to watch than they had in some of there earlier games.

France were deserved winners and played some of the best and most attractive rugby to watch in the tournament. It was just disappointing that they could not maintain this form into there final match against England, where they did not look good at all and it did not look likely that they would score any tries. Whereas England looked more of a threat and the more likely to score a try in this match than they had done in most of there other matches that they had won.

The most disappointing team had to be Wales as at times they looked like one of the best teams and some of there attacking play was the best of any of the teams in the tournament. If only they were more consistent and not as ill disciplined, they could have done much better.  The problem they had was that they only seemed to start playing in some of the games once they went behind and at international level if you give teams a head start you cannot always make a come back.

Italy finish bottom of the table again despite some spirited performances they always show determination but just lack the attacking players.

Overall it was a good tournament and France were the best and most consistent team, so deserved to win.

What did you make of the Six Nations?
