The 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards

The first showcase in 2010 of the glitz and glamour of Hollywood was entertained at The Beverley Hilton, Beverley Hills, California, as it hosted the 67th Golden Globe Awards. The Golden Globes are usually an indicator as to how the forthcoming Oscars ceremony will pan out. Once again it was a star-studded affair as the likes of George Clooney, Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts, Cameron Diaz, Nicole Kidman, Harrison Ford and many more, as they donned there favourite designer label.

Martin Scorsese won the highly prestigious Cecil B.Demille award, while the film of the moment “Avatar” collected the Best Motion Picture – Drama award. Sandra Bullock for her role in The Blind Side won her the award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama, while the same Male category went to Jeff Bridges for his performance in Crazy Heart. The Hangover won the Best Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical category. Meryl Streep was awarded the Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical for her role in Julie & Julia, whilst Robert Downey Jr won the same award in the Male category. Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture went to Mo’nique for Precious, while Best Supporting Actor went to Christoph Waltz for Inglorious Basterds. Best Animated Feature Film went to the movie Up. James Cameron picked up the Best Direction in a Motion Picture award.
