Bollywood Actress Shilpa Shetty and London based businessman Raj Kundra tied the knot on 22nd November in a private traditional Mangalorean ceremony. The wedding took place at Kiran Bawa’s (business woman) villa in Khandala. The Bollywood beauty looked astonishing in combined shades of red sari embellished with Swarovski crystals created by famous Indian designer Tarun Tahilliani. Swarovski crystals are the World’s most expensive and precision-cut crystal glass jewellery. There have been rumours that this wedding affair is amongst Bollywood’s most expensive weddings!

Celebrations of the wedding had begun on 24th October when the couple got engaged at Raj Kundra’s 7th floor flat in Juhu, Mumbai and the Sangeet ritual was on 21st November for which Choreographer Ganesh Hedge arranged and combined South Indian and Punjabi style dance and music, keeping in mind the backgrounds of the bride and groom.

Shilpa Shetty came into the Bollywood film industry in 1993 and she achieved many successes over the 16 years, so the greatest stars of the Indian film fraternity came together to congratulate Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra on this new chapter in their lives together. Guests included, Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan, Rani Mukerjee, Amisha Patel, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan, Rekha, Kangana Ranuat, Monica Bedi, Juhi Chawla, Fardeen Khan and Natasha, Farah Khan, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Hrithik Roshan and Suzanne, Jackie Shroff, Adnan Sami, Sunil Shetty, Govinda, Vivek Oberio, Karan Johar, Manish Malhotra, David Dhawan and many more! This wedding was certainly a high profile affair witnessed by all of India and UK to see their country’s personalities become one in a beautiful traditional ceremony.

The Bollywood heroine’s relation to UK began in 2007 when she entered UK reality show called Celebrity Big Brother. In the reality show, she became the centre of a racial row which caused controversy across the World, including the Parliament. Factually, Ofcom received over 40,000 complaints in relation to the alleged bullying and racism of that particular series. However, Shilpa Shetty continued to fight her way through the obstacles and won the reality show via public vote.

In 2007, Shilpa Shetty successfully won the reality show and we hope that her success continues in her new beginning of life!
