They’re constantly jetting all over the world to the envy of us mere mortals, as we covetously flick through endless tabloid snaps of beach bodies and wild nights out. But with all that travel comes a lot of downtime.
We know ourselves that even a couple of hours’ flight can leave you climbing the cabin walls for something to do, read, watch or listen to. Whilst Spotify have released their ultimate in-flight playlist for the nervous flyer, featuring the likes of self-confessed ‘bad-flyer’ Adele, we wonder what the celebs themselves choose to listen to.
So we did a bit of research…
Gwyneth Paltrow goes eclectic
Gwyneth Paltrow shared her ultimate transatlantic playlist via her website Goop, revealing that she likes to mix it up with anything from Simple Minds’ ‘Don’t You’ (Forget About Me), to a more contemporary ‘Sexy Back’ by Justin Timberlake.
The glamorous actress wrote that she’s getting quite good at travelling as she does it all the time, accompanied by a pre-flight picture of herself captioned ‘bedraggled working mother’, whilst managing to retain all the poise and natural grace of an international supermodel. Tsk.
The comprehensive list includes the likes of Arcade Fire, Sigur Ros and Fleetwood Mac, and can be found here.
Cheryl Cole Tweets her tunes
Cheryl Cle Tweeted her in-flight playlist to her millions of followers after a flight from London to LA, revealing that she doesn’t mind a touch of repetition.
The former Girls Aloud star declared her love for fellow diva Rihanna over the social networking site, Tweeting, “I had these 5 songs on repeat! Rihanna – We Found Love, Labrinth – Earthquake (makes me want to smash something!), Chris Brown – Pot of Gold, T-Pain – 5 O’Clock and Gotye – Somebody That I Used To Know (you have to hear this!)”.
Listening to a song that incites rage is not something we’d advise, nor would we embark on an eight hour journey with a playlist of just five tracks. Each to their own eh, Chezza.
Kanye West makes his own entertainment
Back in 2010, passengers on board a Delta Airlines flight from Minneapolis to NYC were treated to a rare spot of live in-flight entertainment from hip hop King, Kanye West.
The ‘Through the Wire’ rapper entertained fellow travellers with a rendition of his 2006 hit ‘Gold Digger’ from First Class via the loudspeaker.
Justin Bieber entertains too… in space
Always one to take affairs to the next level, Justin Bieber recently forked out a reported $250,000 for a seat on Virgin Galactic’s commercial space flight. And rumour has it, he’s in good company. The intergalactic missions, rumoured for embarkation in 2014, have already attracted A-listers Leonardo DiCaprio and Ashton Kutcher.
The excited star expressed his joy to over 45 million followers via social media, Tweeting, “let’s shoot a music video in SPACE!!” taking the idea of in-flight entertainment to a whole new level.
